Author Guidelines

The Manuscripts

The manuscript should be an original research paper that contributes novelty to MARJINAL EDU: Journal of Social, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Education. Authors must submit their papers electronically via the online submission system. The corresponding author must also confirm that the manuscript is not under review elsewhere. Submissions that do not meet these requirements will be disregarded by the editor.

Structure of the Manuscripts

  1. Title: Clear, informative, and no more than 14 words.

  2. Author's Names and Institutions: Include names (without academic titles), institutional affiliations, and email addresses. Indicate the corresponding author.

  3. Abstract: Less than 200 words, provided in both English and Bahasa Indonesia. Keywords: 3–5 words/phrases.

  4. Introduction: Explain the study background, literature review, aims, significance, and novelty.

  5. Methods: Describe analysis tools, data, and sources.

  6. Results and Discussion: Present findings clearly; highlight contributions or novelty.

  7. Conclusion: State conclusions and policy implications, consistent with earlier sections.

  8. References: List only cited sources; minimum 20 references.

General Writing Format

  1. A4 paper, single-sided, single spacing, Times New Roman size 11, 5-character paragraph indent.

  2. Written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

  3. Length: 10–16 pages.

  4. Top & bottom margin: 1.5 inch.

  5. Title: Centered, only the first word capitalized (or proper nouns), font size 14.

  6. Subtitles: Left-aligned, font size 11, first-word capitalization.

  7. Sub-subtitles: Left-aligned, same rules.

  8. Sub-sub-subtitles: Italics, each word capitalized (except connectors), left-aligned.

  9. 80% references should be from the last 10 years (except key references), textbooks <20%.

Specific Writing Format

  1. Equations should be numbered (1), (2), etc., on the right.

  2. Do not copy-paste raw software output—summarize in tables.

Tables and Figures

  1. Use Arabic numerals; table titles above, figure titles below.

  2. Include data sources under tables/figures.

  3. Tables: use row lines only, no column lines. Include notes and sources when necessary.

Acknowledgment

If any, write acknowledgment as a footnote to the title.

Subject and Author Index

Include a subject index (keywords in the manuscript) and an author index (key cited authors, family name first).

Citation

Use author-date format.

  • (McCain, 1982)

  • (Wagner, 1976; Rhonda, 2009)

  • Use Mendeley for reference management.

References (APA Style)

Follow APA style strictly. Refer only to cited sources.

  • Book (1 author): Author, A. A. (2005). Title. City, State: Publisher.

  • Journal: Ruchba, S. M., & Suhada, F. (2015)...

  • Edited Book: Gregoriou, G. N. (Ed.). (2009)...

How to Send the Manuscript

  1. Submit via Online Submission on the website.

  2. Fill out all required information (name, title, institution, phone, etc.).

Final Decision

Authors will be notified through the website with one of the following outcomes:
a. Accepted without revision
b. Accepted with minor revision
c. Accepted with major revision
d. Rejected

Copyright Notice

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant first publication rights under CC BY-SA 4.0.

  2. Authors can share/publish elsewhere with acknowledgment of the journal.

  3. Authors may post their work online before and during submission.

Privacy Statement

The names and emails provided are used solely for the purposes of this journal and not for other use.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off that their submission complies with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors who do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, and plagiarism check is under 20%?

  • The manuscript is written in Bahasa Indonesia or proper English?

  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word or RTF format?

  • The manuscript is between 10 to 16 pages long?

  • Using Mendeley/Zotero software to write citations and references?

  • Using at least 20 references, and citing 2 articles from this journal?
